First Founder’s Forum aims to energize and encourage entrepreneurs
Founding an enterprise comes with a unique set of challenges and demands for entrepreneurs. The journey of keeping a new venture running and growing calls for both support and dedication.
On Feb. 1, a group of business leaders met at the first Founder’s Forum. The event was hosted by the Louisiana Tech University Technology Business Development Center (TBDC) to help facilitate conversation between different entrepreneurial entities. Five area business professionals came together to discuss the need for an interactive environment where local leaders could gather to share advice, experiences and opportunities.
A large factor discussed at the forum was the need for peer-to-peer exchange in business. Through the sharing of challenges and successes, business owners and team leaders can gain insight while also helping others persist through the early stages of building a business.
Fostering an environment for energizing and encouraging entrepreneurs in and around Ruston was an area of focus in the meeting, as was a call to bring growth to the area. Part of the meeting goal explored ideas concerning how to bring a more diverse entrepreneurial culture to the town and its surroundings.
If you are a newly-established entrepreneur who is seeking a community of driven peers and mentors to meet with on a regular basis, please call the TBDC at (318)257-3537 to discuss your eligibility.
